Orion, Manolo Black and Hobo D comprise what is Austin’s premiere Latin dance party, Peligrosa. An evening of sultry unpressured dancing, unglamorous drinking and that ever so dangerously fierce young woman, whose methodologically carnivorous mannerisms beckon the Latin flavor. For more than a year strong Peligrosa has spread the message of Cumbia, Salsa, Merengue, Reggaeton, Boogaloo and a lot more to an unsuspecting Austin market.
Orion:
In addition to starting Peligrosa, Orion runs his own record label, Raw Word Records. His engagements with crews such as the Fresh Boy Crew, C02, Shunda K of Yo Majesty has him busy producing, promoting and traveling the globe performing on stages such as Djing for Yo Majesty at Coachella 2008. He has had the pleasure of djing next to the likes of lever, Pase Rock, Queen Majesty and many more.
Manolo Black:
Trey Lopez a.k.a. Manolo Black has been providing sounds for the Austin nightlife for several years. He has played alongside an eclectic mix of acts, including Broken Social Scene, RJD2, Jurassic 5, Diplo, Tortoise and others. On stage, he has collaborated with a number of dj’s, musicians and artists including the Nuyorican Poets, DJ MEL, Adrian Quesada (Grupo Fantasma, Brownout, Ocote Soul Sounds), DJ SUN, John Speice (Hairy Apes, Ocote Soul Sounds) DJ DOLORES (Brazil). His sets will flow from inidie to hip hop to soul to electro to latin dancefloor bombs!
Hobo D:
Melding a variety of styles, such as hip hop, Latin re-edits, Boogaloo, Salsa, Descarga, and 60’s Cumbias, Hobo D is a tried and tested selector of old school Latin heat that saturates the dance floor with love and debauchery. Aside from Latin styles, Hobo D is also known for dropping the hard funk, soul, and r&b to the masses at various venues and parties around Austin, as well as being a fervent guest at Hotel San Jose on Wednesdays with Greg Most and Noel Waggener from Waxploitation!
